Ethels Cinema Akaroa is a unique space that lends itself to a range of opportunities for private hire for up to a maximum of 53 people. Our two theatre rooms can be hired together or individually for private or corporate events (36 and 17 seats). Our theatre rooms feature the latest state-of-the-art projection and surround sound, plush seating with a table for your snacks, coffee or glass of wine, access to fibre internet, and support for a wide range of different content types.

If you need a day venue for a team meeting, product launch, screening, presentation or conference, we have the ideal space, technology, food, drink and service to make it happen.

Choose from a varity of films that are currently playing or other films by arrangement. Ethels is fully licensed and offers a wide range boutique wines, craft beers and selected spirits. Our in-house chef would love to cater your next function and can provide tasty finger food or a tailored dinner menu.
